About Tarkasa Tales
Tarkasa Tales is a children’s educational publishing brand. Our mission is to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, imagination and a lifelong love of learning through beautifully illustrated children’s books.
Our books bring together scientific curiosity and discovery, logical reasoning and questioning, world history and cultures, and traditional stories — written for children aged 4–8 and the grown-ups who read with them.
The meaning behind our name
tarka तर्कreasoning+jijñāsā जिज्ञासाcuriosity=Tarkasa
Tarkasa brings together two Sanskrit words: tarka (तर्क), reasoning and logical thinking, and jijñāsā (जिज्ञासा), the desire to know. Together they describe what we hope every book sparks: the curiosity to ask questions, and the thinking that helps answer them.
“Tarkasa” is our own blend of these two words rather than a dictionary word — a reminder that every good story, like every good discovery, begins with a question.
